i apologize for the lack of posting in the last week and a half, i have been up to my eyeballs in work for finals and the like, and after all that i still have to move all of my things to a different building. I do, however have some exciting news, i have been published in a philosophy journal, along with a few of my friends and fellow majors. pretty good stuff. I also have a few trips planned for over break that i will be able to utilize my camera, NYC and Ocean City being chief among them, and i may get an Olympus 850sw for the mountain, its a good quality camera, and the freeze and waterproof casing would be great to capture some shots on the mountain. other than that, i am very excited to take a photography class next semester, and be able to get back to the basics. I'm sure once that gets started, ill have much more interesting things to post. in the meanwhile, i must get back to writing more philosophy..

John's Island, South Carolina 2008

Every year, my church, South Church, hosts a mission trip to south carolina, where the history is rich, and the help is needed. here are some of my pictures from the trip last year, when i was asked back to chaperone. The trip is typically reserved for the highschoolers of Andover, MA, and their guests, and i have been fortunate to attend 5 of these trips, the lessons have been lasting, and i still keep in contact with the people that i have met.

"this could be the beginning of something great"
so i spent the last summer on Martha's Vineyard, and i know all the islanders are going to jump to the conclusions that i am a rich prissy brat, but i was glad to have the opportunity to work for the summer. The Martha's Vineyard Land Bank Commission hired me to work for the summer, as a properties attendee, and provided housing, and with that i was able to have the best summer of my life
At twenty, i only have a few more guilt and responsibility free summers left, so i had to take one while i still could. i was allowed an experience that i would not exchange for the world, working with new people, and making great friends. you know its a good summer, when you can show to work late with a hangover, spend all your time reading and working on your photography, and then go out drinking that night.
i have decided to compose this blog to showcase some of my finer photography, and im sure there will be quite a few from the island, so i figured i would start off with the back story. i have always been interested in photography, and after purchasing a Nikon D40 as a birthday present for myself, and have been avid in my crazed need to visually document.
alas, i am off to class, but i will post later other pictures from the island and things.
peace love faith.
